Prof. Hay received the 2019 ACM SIGMOD Research Highlight Award for his work “Ektelo: A Framework for Defining Differentially-Private Computations.” Ektelo is a programming framework and system that aids programmers in writing programs over sensitive data sources. The framework ensures that strong privacy protections are enforced while at the same time enables programmers to write accurate and efficient programs.
